Laurence (Laurie) Willis is Apollo’s CEO and has been with the organization for 43 years. Laurie oversees the entire operation and casts long-term vision for the company. By providing leadership and transparency, he ensures that Apollo is tailor-made for our customers, which in turn helps them grow. Laurie and his wife, Jan, have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Outside of work, Laurie can be found on the golf course, tending to yardwork, and enjoying being a snowbird.
Wayne Norton is the President of Apollo and has been with the company for 22 years. His father was the founding partner of Apollo and he has the pleasure of working alongside numerous family members. As president, he manages the day-to-day operations, oversees the management operating system, ensuring quality products are delivered in a timely fashion. He also provides leadership and support to all levels of the organization. Wayne and his wife, Susan, have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. In his spare time, Wayne enjoys sporting clays and going on family vacations.
Laurie Zarb is the Director of Apollo and is about to celebrate 40 years with the company. He oversees capital purchases and is keeping Apollo on the cutting edge of new technology and equipment, giving customers a higher quality product, with competitive prices. This also ensures staff are highly skilled, which in turn helps inspire pride in what they are doing, making for a happier work environment. Laurie has been married to his wife for 27 years. They have 4 children, 2 grandchildren, a cat, and a dog. Laurie’s two sons are both partners in the company.
Leduc Facility Manager
Colin Quast is the Leduc Facility Manager and has been with the company for 10 years. As facility manager, Colin oversees the administration and production of the Apollo-Clad facility. His goals are to provide customers with a superior product at a fair price, while meeting customer’s expectations. Customers being able to trust Apollo’s integrity is a top priority for him. Creating a happy, healthy work environment is important for him, as it helps his employees take pride in their work and their workplace, knowing they are working with an industry leader and holding high expectations for the product they produce.
Jake Quast is the Sales Manager and has been with Apollo for 11 years. He oversees the internal and external sales team and is the up-front contact with all customers. Jake's ability to communicate with both clients and Apollo's manufacturing team keeps production flowing as per the customers requirements. Jake is married and in his spare time he enjoys whitewater kayaking and hockey.
Martin Usher is a Director and began with Apollo 23 years ago, overseeing day-to-day machine shop operation and maintenance. He is also the primary customer engineering liaison and with his product knowledge, and understanding of the equipment and its requirements, he is able to effectively work with customers. By training the next generation, and maintaining good working relationships with his staff, Martin is able to maintain a positive impact on his team. He has a wife, 2 sons, 1 daughter, and 2 grandchildren. Outside of work, he enjoys sporting clays shooting and DIY projects. When asked if he works with relatives, Martin replied, “Apollo is family.”
Bryan Jackson is the Plant Manager and has been with the company for 15 years. As plant manager, he ensures products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and delivered on time, which ensures customer projects are a success. Bryan is married with two children - a boy and a girl - and in his down time, enjoys golfing and camping.
Assistant Leduc Facility Manager
Luke Quast is Assistant Facility Manager and has been with Apollo for 9 years. He looks after customer relations, facility management, and anything laser-related (quality, programming, maintenance, repair, complex parts). Luke helps repair parts that would otherwise be irreparable, ensuring the customer gets a quality product. He helps his staff with laser issues, training, and maintenance.
Jerry Zarb has been with Apollo since 2008 as an Estimator. He looks after general inquiries and developing relationships with customers to meet their needs and requirements. Winning bids and bringing in work for Apollo employees is a large part of his role. An avid outdoorsman, Jerry loves to fish, hike, snowboard, and enjoys the arts in his spare time. In his current role, he works alongside his brother and father.
Sid Zarb has been with Apollo for 10 years and is a copper plater and partner in the company. His main task is copper plating. Sid is engaged and they have 2 “fur babies” (cats). In his down time, Sid enjoys exploring the outdoors, enjoying the beautiful country of Canada. He works with his father and brother at Apollo.
Projects and Research & Development Manager
Herald Sundar is Projects and Research & Development Manager. Working with Apollo for 10 years now, Herald looks after threading, gauging, gauge rental and royalties, special projects, designing and building specialized equipment and fixtures, and copper plating to name just a few of the things he does. Being creative, and constantly improving, Herald helps to ensure that his staff has the best knowledge and equipment at their disposal, including a safe working environment. Herald has a large family: 5 kids, 2 dogs – never a dull moment! He and his family love to camp, hunt, and fish as much as possible in the summer months.
Materials and Production manager
Greg Clark is the Material and Production Manager: overseeing all jobs in the shop and hiring new employees. Getting parts out on time and producing quality work are important in his role, while striving to be a good leader to his staff. Greg has been with Apollo for 15 years. He is married with two children. Outside of work, he loves golfing and vacations in Prince Edward Island.
